Vegetation Management Notice: Roadside Ditch Spraying

Beginning in April, the Green Lake County Highway Department will be conducting routine vegetation management along all County roadside ditches, as well as selective, upland roadways for the Town of Green Lake, using a selective herbicide mix designed to control invasive and noxious weeds. This operation helps keep mowing costs to a minimum, maintain visibility, reduce fire hazards, and promote the growth of native plant species. As part of this effort, we advise the public not to harvest or consume any vegetation—including wild edibles like ditch asparagus—from sprayed areas. Some herbicides in the mix can remain in plant tissues and are not approved for use on or near food crops. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain safe and healthy roadside environments.
